If you have experienced an injury which may have resulted in a broken bone, then X-Rays would be necessary. However, going to the hospital ER may involve an extensive wait to see the doctor and for a radiology technician to make X-Rays. Meanwhile, you may be approaching your pain threshold while sitting in a crowded ER waiting room. While ER waiting rooms are your first stop at a hospital, you will often have to wait in an examination room and then wait for the doctor to see you.
