Influenza illnesses are still elevated but in a declining trend. We are still seeing a good number of flu cases, both Type A and some Type B.
Our latest expansion is complete. We have 23 examination rooms, a new waiting room, and a markedly improved new entrance.
Influenza activity has increased significantly this week nationwide and also in El Paso. We are seeing many cases of both Type A and Type B influenza. The CDC recently commented this year’s vaccine was 48% effective. That means it prevents about half the cases we would have if there were no vaccine. The best protection remains prevention and the best prevention is an annual flu vaccine.
Influenza activity now elevated in all regions. We are seeing sporadic cases of both Type A and B Influenza in El Paso. If you have not received your annual flu vaccine, there is still time. February will most likely be the peak month in El Paso.
